Jose Galeote

Jose Galeote studied in the Superior College of Music of Barcelona (Conservatori del Liceu), with the composer and guitarrist Jaume Torrent. He also did Master Classes with masters such as: Carles Trepat, Ignacio Rodes, Ricardo Gallen, William Waters and Armando Marrosu among others.

His concertistic activity has taken him to perform in different festivals and concert cycles like: Festival International Guitar Festival of Santcugat, The Cycle of Chamber Music of the Fomento Mataroní, The Picasso and Barcelona Cycle,Classical Music at the Parks, Chamber Cycle of Teatre de les Belles Arts of Sabadell, Acròbates Festival, Salou Music festival, III FESIMCAT and the Palau de la Música Catalana, to name a few. He has shared the stage with Laura Boschetti, Maria Teresa Vert, Melani Molina, Helena Salgado, Amaya Barrachina, Carles Puig, Maria Luisa Ibañez and José Isidoro Ramos, among others.

He has been conducted by conductors such as Jordi Montoliu (Orchestra of Cambra de Sabadell), Jordi Picorelli (Joncar Choir ) and Cesario Costa (as guest conductor of the Orquesta Filarmonía Iberia).

He has premiered two of the works of the composer Gloria Villanueva: Lacrimae Estelarum and Onix (solo guitar) and Souvenir de Göreme, work which is dedicated to the Duet Tritó (José Galeote, M ª Luisa Ibañez) in its version for harp and guitar.

He has participated in several recordings for the record companies La Produktiva Records and Ars Harmónica. As composer his works has been premiered and played in differents concert cycles by artists such as: María Fabregat, Fix Nicolet, Duo -Villa-Lobos, David Coromines, Lucy Ruiz, Rosa Navarro, Russell Wyton, Helena Salgado, Andrea Peirón, Maria Perera, Manel Ribera, Natalia Borisyuk, Izan Rubio, Carles Hoyo, Nuria Galvany, and Catasons Choir to name a few. Recently, he has premiered his concert for guitar and strings, Painted Skin, with the Catalonian Youth Philharmonic Orchestra,conducted by Melani Mestre at the Auditori of Barcelona as commission made by the Llobet Contest and Festival.

He has published most if his works with the Boileau and La mâ de Guido editions. He has an important music catalog that includes solo works, chamber and pedagogic music,and orchestral and choral music, being the guitar the main creative core of his compositions,receiving positive reviews from some of the leading figures of classical guitar:

He has been invited in several occasions to the ESMUC ( University of Music of Catalonia) as a lecturer, to talk about performer and a composer symbiosis during the creative process, and to the UAB ( Autonomous University of Barcelona) as a member of a Bacchanalia cultural project.

He has been a guitar and chamber music professor for over 18 years and he is currently working at Escuela Pia of Sabadell , Barcelona, as a chamber music and guitar teacher and the AIMB ( International Academy of Music of Barcelona
